Impact of climate change on the water resources of Albania

The likely effects of climate change on the water resources of Albania have been investigated for 2040–2069 and 2070–2099 compared with 1961–1990.

Model results show that Albania’s water resources will decline by 14%. With its population not expected to grow significantly and being generously endowed with water relative to its population, Albania should not experience significant socioeconomic impacts due to climate change reducing water availability.
